"1984" is NOT the book people should read. Despite appearances, North-Korean totalitarianism is not the road we've taken.

If you wish to understand the current period, "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley is a much better (and scarier!) book to read.

Many points of the contemporary woke ideology end up in the story.
