3 Reasons Why I Moved My Newsletter From MailerLite to Substack

As I was dangerously approaching 700 subscribers, I decided to move my newsletter from MailerLite to Substack.

I don’t regret my choice.

Here’s why.

1. I Didn’t Want to Pay

MailerLite’s free plan was up to 1000 subscribers.

Let’s be honest, I didn’t see the point of paying $10/month for MailerLite when my newsletter isn’t even monetized.

Substack enables you to send an unlimited number of emails to an unlimited number of people…for free.

2. I Lacked Features

Over a year ago, I wrote to MailerLite asking them for an affiliate link for creators.

They didn’t understand what I meant. I quickly gave up.

3. The Sign Up Process Was Complicated

I had to connect my WordPress form plugin called Forminator to Google Sheets because MailerLite had no direct integration.

Then I had to connect that Google Sheet to Zapier which gave me max 100 sign-ups per month.

MailerLite had its own sign-up form plugin, but the form did not load fast…
