I see your point.
The problem of science is that it changes all the time.
Today it is x. Tomorrow it will be y. And it is great, as it means we are moving forward.
Religion is the opposite. It is millennial wisdom that doesn't change.
And it is so profound that we will never be able to extract all of the embedded meaning either.
I think religion has a bad rep because of the low quality of the institutions that serve it on one hand, and because we never fully understood it neither its nature nor function in the west, on the other.
