Indeed! I believe Eastern philosophies seized the problem under a much better angle!
I don't know them well so I don't want to advance myself too much, but the little that I know is that time is represented as a circle, not as a straight line like in the Western world. As a result, the apocalypse never really happens.
From a physic perspective, it seems to be more accurate. One of the most recent theories about the universe proposed that it was never "created". Rather, it expands, then shrinks to being a really small ball, then the big bang happens and the whole cycle starts again.
Very interesting. This way of seeing things solve the "God" equation. God isn't needed because there was never a beginning of the universe in the first place. It has been there since forever and will always be there. It's a circle. Time is an illusion.
