Meh. Rand was a hyperrealist at heart. She only dealt with what she could grasp, which is why she was an atheist. I didn't know she had mentioned ugly art, but it's ironic as most art was made in a religious context, as a result of the search for a transcendental experience, almost a communion with God.

So I am not sure I would pair her up with Campbell. As far as I am concerned, her work has more to do with political and economic theory than it has with myth and Campbell, especially since myths aim at grasping "the ungraspable", something Rand denied even existed.
