I agree with you but I also think that this tendency is part of a broader problem of deconstruction of structures, and I think it's a mere fashionable tendency which won't last long in a broader biological context.

As much as marriage and monogamy are socially constructed, they're the result of a deep biological phenomenon which expresses itself as attachment.

We know that people who lose their virginity to each other are much more likely to stay together than people who multiply sexual relationships.

The reason is likely that it takes two to successfully raise a child, as further studies demonstrate. Nature never considered that humans would use contraception.

So I wouldn't worry too much about this phenomenon. People will experience with polyamory for a while until hormones kick in and they demand from their partner full commitment.
