The decision to sell or not remains in the hands of the founders. Not all of them sell. I don't know where you're based, but in Europe, we have Revolut that destroys traditional banking, Klarna which takes care of consumer loans (BNPL, but that's the same thing), UiPath didn't sell to anyone either, Hopin is changing how events are organized, and there are many, many others.
