Hard sciences like math, engineering, or computer science are only discussed by competent people because you need to know what you’re talking about to discuss them.

On the other hand, there are a number of topics that everyone has an opinion on because even real experts cannot accurately predict what’s going to happen.

Such topics are:

  • Marketing
  • Business
  • Geopolitics

Unfortunately, while these topics may seem trivial, there’s more experience and knowledge needed to understand them than one may think.

Quackery

A few months ago, Jordan Peterson gave an interview to Piers Morgan saying Ukraine should lay down and accept Russia’s invasion as it was “foolish to think that Russia would lose”.

Of course, Peterson knows absolutely nothing about modern Russia.

Why did he say this, then?

Like many people, Peterson does not make his opinions based on critical thinking, but based on what the people he doesn’t like think.
