The trust fund story is legend. Bilzerian made most of his money from Sam Magid and Alec Gore, against which he played in poker. He also won 1 million of Btc thx to sponsoring a poker player (in the mid 10s) which also helped him make a lot of money.

The trust fund was seized by the FBI and sold for a handful of hundreds of thousands by the end of the 2010s.

Bilzerian made himself entirely by himself, which is likely why people hate him that much. If he did what he did being nobody, why cant we?
